We’re on the hunt for a Dispatch Manager – could this be you?
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for the leadership and management of the transport, distribution, and logistics arm of the laundry.
As a key member of the Beacon team, you will be involved in driving the day-to-day operational allocation and organisation of stock, scheduling, coordination, and monitoring of all linen and laundry stock and its distribution to a customer base of holiday accommodation providers throughout the Northern Rivers. You will be required to manage the efficiencies & logistics within the operation to ensure a smooth, accurate and reliable service for our clients.
What you’ll do and who we’re looking for includes:
- Empathic leadership of the Dispatch team and our Linen Delivery Drivers. You’ll be on the ground getting to know the team and will bring your experience (even lived experience) to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Exceptional organizational and logistical skills. This is a busy “hands on” role where you will oversee the Dispatch Area, and staff involved in Load Planning & Delivery Scheduling. You will ensure that all deliveries & loads are compliant and meet standards including all safety and regulatory requirements, risk management, and improving processes to reduce errors.
- You’ll be in your comfort zone leading a small team of drivers, a dispatch coordinator, and occasionally laundry operators who will assist in the area. You will liaise daily with the Business Development Manager & Production Team Leader to ensure targets are met and our customers are happy.
- Assist in ensuring that we can meet our daily production targets, allocating the right people to the right places, and the right stock in the right place. How well you plan and problem-solve matters.
- With extensive knowledge of logistics and delivery services, you will demonstrate strong proactive leadership skills, awesome planning, time management and organizational skills, be IT literate (Linentech experience a bonus), customer-focused, resilient, calm and outcome-oriented.
If you’re someone who leads with positive energy and heart, loves a good process, and thrives when setting up new systems to work out the smoothest way to ‘sail the ship’, this is your chance to contribute to the community in a really meaningful way.
